We’re designing sustainable, inclusive places where local communities and Google can thrive
Around the world, we always aim to create vibrant work environments that unlock new possibilities and the power of togetherness. While each project is unique, they share some common goals. We always strive to design the best place to work, to build sustainably, and to be a helpful neighbor.
Responsibility to people and the planet
-
Designing the best place to work
We design our workplaces to inspire big ideas, promote collaboration and provide an environment where everyone can do transformative work. And we’re never finished chasing progress. We develop new workspace designs and technologies that can evolve with our needs, helping us power the next giant leap forward.
At some locations, we’re thinking beyond the office. In the Bay Area, we’re planning walkable neighborhoods with ambitious climate solutions, immersive nature, and a mix of uses that deepen community wellbeing.
-
Building and operating sustainably
Our goal is to achieve net-zero emissions across all of our operations and value chain by 2030. To help us get there, we’re building sustainability into everything we do. We're laying the groundwork for a carbon-free energy future, working toward circular buildings, replenishing water across our offices, and bringing nature into the campuses and communities we call home.
-
Being a helpful neighbor
From Google.org’s strategic grantmaking to our commitments to expand opportunities to the economic impact of our presence, we’re always looking for new ways to be stronger community members. With our mixed-use developments, we often team up with local nonprofits, create new public amenities, and engage with community groups to better understand local opportunities and challenges as we co-create designs. Because if our local communities thrive, we thrive too.
